But in my F drive, Ive broken down the program files into a normal one and x86 one. I'll have to read the paper that describes the algorithm first. No fuss no muss. If I have a major failure I'll just reinstall the OS.

Finally, I tried the disc spanning feature in some burning software but they don't appear to be efficient in minimizing free space. It does span multiple DVD's, and it will span multiple hard disk's also, and it DOES backup the registry. I can fit 5 or 6 of the parsed files onto ONE DVD DATA ROM. 2) If MSBACKUP creates a .bkf file LARGER THAN 4.7GB (the capacity of a typical DVD)

I suspect that it's performance is likely to be very close to optimal except for specific 'pathological' item sizes. I just said I needed to burn a data DVD.
