I appreciate your help. However when I launch Media Center and try the connect to Extender the setting are put back (to manual and not running) somehow. But I still see the icon in the list for the XBox 360 afterwards. Event Xml: 581 0 4 4 0 0x8000000000000000 424

I am able to go back to the dashboard, which means the xbox is not locking up. The Media Center PC is a PC, after all, and it sometimes needs to be rebooted when an application is installed or updated.
