Well, not exactly... It wasn't muted, but I suspected there was a slider it wasn't showing. But, is there any explanation?
Anyone else seen this and figured out how to fix? So I went back to the standard STV where a volume slider is visible...and guess what, the volume was all the way down!! no more problem. I love my Winamp Pro and use it on a daily basis but this just stumps me. My PC seems pretty similar to bakerstreet's in that I too have Vista, Realtek Audio and quad core processor. Can your advice please be expressed as simply as possible. It only happen to X-Fi and C:\Program Files (x86)\winamp\winamp.exe combo, if i rename winamp to anything but "winamp.exe" i have the sound again. Checking the other list, Thank you.
i would just like to thank Heathcliff74 for the registry fix worked like a charm! I'll give it a try since the previous user says it's working ok. I've noticed lag at times in FarCry 2, its rare but it does happen, no sound corruption though, and I'm running an AMD setup. Not entirely sure what it was, but i reinstalled a couple of drivers, and updates, and now the problem has been rectified. At this point I have no choice but to find another player, I suppose.
