No Sound From Compaq Presario V5000 Notebook

Now I can use my laptop to play dvd's on the road again. That will be the first place I look next time. Scared the **** out of me when I placed a dvd into the drive. get redirected here

I have the same laptop (HP Pavilion ze2000) and am wondering how well Windows 7 is running on the system. Monday, July 13, 2009 11:14 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote what worked??? It says "No audio devices are installed" Running "Scan for new hardware" yields a Multimedia Audio Controller in the Device Manager under Other Devices but nothing in the Sound Applet.Any ideas?

NOTE: This solution may work and may not.  The fact is that the laptop I have isn’t even a Vista certified machine and the Conexant AC’97 audio driver isn’t supported.  The Vista driver not work.

Still no sound.
