I have to unplug the headset and plug it back in to get it to work again.    I've checked HP for driver updates but it says all my drivers are up Additional batteries are affected. Perhaps it takes a power-off, power-back-on-again cycle to affect the necessary change?)If it helps, I have have not set up Windows Update, so don't receive any MS windows updates.

Also if Windows updates are correcting errors (or deliberate errors) in Windows then why wouldn't the updates also contain new different errors? Check the connection. Sometime it works fine. First Time Here?
