The logical one to fix first is the communication with the BIOS. Ask ! The "e" key and arrow keys (not sure if there are others yet) are working intermittently. I have an azerty keyboard on a ASUS K53SC SX050V - Pentium 2 GHz laptop. Now, the problem is that my keyboard is really acting up. The Satellite manual doesn't even mention F2 for setting up/viewing the BIOS.

Those are all shortcut function command keys so I suspect the Fn key, or Alt key, or Windows key has somehow become activated. I don't have a replacement keyboard but my dad does. But we now know the problem is with the system. I couldnt type multiple of the same letter at once, but this helped me a lot to fix it!

the sticky keys get activated…and i have to deep press the digits to get it typed and then enter. Now maybe I can find an open-source freeware BIOS viewer/editor so I can change the boot order and see what else is going on with the BIOS settings. Then, make sure you have the latest device driver from the manufacturer's website installed.

I am fully updated, full virus scan done, reboots and all, and still nothing.

Even though the key isn't dead maybe it is locked similar to caps lock so that it is giving the wrong signal. The manual instructs the user to use Windows to do it.
