Chrome is using huge amounts of memory for me too and I am thinking of abandoning chrome all together because of that. Chrome not working after Windows 7 updates My computer uses 40% of its memory idling, thats not normal is it? Mine I find is slightly different. Which ones are eating your RAM? And with a system like your's it should be happening.

Its has Windows 7 Home Premium. Most of the people are complaining about how 30% of their ram is being used etc.
