Total fluke! from a mac OSthis is more related to I/O conflict with an OS rather than a problem with the windows features.Have you tried to update softwares related to bootcamp? I did all suggested steps, reset SMC, disk utility, create new user, reintsall OSX 10.8.2. I've tried Ctrl + Alt + Delete and nothing happens.
At the welcome screen, I cannot type anything into the password box. I worked with Win8 on this machine for two years or so (since dev preview). This is from AT&T and Unix, it's in all Linux distros too, it's not just Mac OS X or Apple. If it is USB, make sure its not plugged into a USB 3.0 port as those aren't meant for keyboards or mice during boot.
