Go to: Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Device manager - Network adapters. Replacing the Microsoft driver by the Broadcom driver is what helped me fixing the problem. Sven Morrow Fixed it! I found that in my situation, brand new Thinkpad, I had to go back to a old driver, and remove Nortan antivirus that came with the system. Until then I just try to remember to check my wifi status before any app updates and downloads. I know my home wireless is functional cause it works on other devices so I go through the motions of solving it. 1. And then I found the following solution and it saved it all.Symptom:- Go to elevated command prompt (go to start, type cmd.exe, then right and select 'Run as administrator')- Type: ipconfig And no amount of fiddling with settings, updating drivers, flushing, modifying or anything else mentioned here (or in the dozen other sites I've visited) will cause it to reconnect.
